October Meeting:The Missing Role in Scrum...Truths about Coaches

Transformations are popping up left and right as companies see the value of embracing iterative and incremental project delivery.

You may have heard it called an “Agile Transformation, going from waterfall to scrum.” These big organizational reforms are not easy, not pretty, and often times leave employees frustrated.

So what went wrong?

There is a role missing in all the scrum transformations…there is no such thing as a “scrum coach”, and the market confusion behind “agile coaches” is only contributing to the pain of transformations.

In this session we explore the myths around the role of a coach and a few tools and techniques to help you and your teams break through the pain of a transformation and get to the important part – working differently, more effectively, and more innovatively.

Jessica Soroky is a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Purple Belt Certified Collaboration Architect (CCA) and the youngest Leadership Gift Accredited Coach with over seven years of practice in iterative delivery systems (agile) and team leadership. Her passion is with people and teams unlocking innovation within projects and products. Her expertise is in agile methodologies utilizing cognitive psychology and gamification to produce high performing teams in any environment.

After five years of non-profit development and management through Nellie's Catwalk for Kids, Jessica continues her journey leading departments, products, projects and teams in state government, not-for-profit, and private sector fortune 100 companies.

Today she focuses her coaching and product management in successful large enterprise Insurance, financial and medical fields. Jessica's journey is available here and is currently published on one of the Top 50 Leadership Blogs available: Christpher Avery and The Leadership Gift™.
