February Meeting - Why Regulated and Compliance-focused Companies Need DevOps

February Meeting - Why Regulated and Compliance-focused Companies Need DevOps

When: February 14, 2019  (Second Thursday)

Where: Callibrity Complex (Building Next Door) 4445 Lake Forest Dr Suite 170 Blue Ash, OH 45242

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 pm (networking starts at 5:30 pm)

Why Regulated and Compliance-focused Companies Need DevOps

Whether it's PCI, HIPAA, or SOX, companies that are under regulatory scrutiny typically rely on legacy methods and tools to prove compliance. Unfortunately, most highly regulated companies (and auditors) are often slow to accept new methods of software delivery such as Agile and DevOps, including fully automated infrastructure, continuous delivery, and rights management. In reality, these methods are not only more effective, they improve compliance - from end to end tractability to consistent, secure systems.

This talk will include several key concepts, tools, and techniques that take the pain out of audits, improve security, and allow teams to focus on product development at market speed. Misconceptions about automated processes, misinterpretation of regulatory guidelines, and reinforcement of the actual outcome - privacy and security - will be discussed and demonstrated. It's time to improve not only compliance, but overall delivery and dispel the fear of automation.

November Meeting - The Nexus Framework w/ Dr. Charles Suscheck

November Meeting - The Nexus Framework w/ Dr. Charles Suscheck

When: November 08, 2018  (Second Thursday)

Networking: 6:00 - 7:30 pm (networking starts at 5:30 pm)

The Nexus Framework presented by Dr. Charles Suscheck

The premise for Scrum.org’s Nexus is that ability to scale depends on your ability to continuously identify and remove dependencies, integrate work at all levels, and create and inspect holistic increments. Nexus is Scrum, scaled and tuned to manage dependencies with multiple teams working on one product large. It creates a communication pathway that identifies and resolves dependencies by building on the existing Scrum framework and values. The result is a scaling framework for development groups of up to 100 people to create one reified Increment or product with minimal overhead - maximized outcome.

If you are looking for a framework to take advantage of a product mindset, Nexus and Professional Scaled Scrum is an answer based on Scrum. If you are looking for a project-based scaling mechanism, look at other frameworks.
